Peru: Trade agreements bolster exploitation

Analysts say policies initiated under the Free Trade Agreement with
the U.S. have taken away labor rights for hundreds of thousands of
working class Peruvian citizens.

Thousands of employees in the textile and agricultural industries are
now working in precarious conditions due to the Free Trade Agreement
with the United States, Peruvian labor unions announced on Thursday.

Labor union leaders claim that since the treaty was signed in 2009
worker’s rights have been increasingly under attack. Those textile and
agricultural workers attempting to organize themselves into unions have
been punished with group firings without termination benefits, the
leaders say.

Lorena Chavera, a textile worker who says she was fired for becoming
an active member of a labor union, told teleSUR English that she
originally thought the signing of the free trade agreement with the
United States was an opportunity to increase jobs.

However, after she started working with the textile company Camones,
she got a startling wake-up call. Chavera said she and 204 other workers
were fired because they were organizing protests demanding improvements
of working conditions.

“The company stopped paying utilities on top of all the other labor
violations that they were committing like not paying for overtime when
we worked for longer hours,” she said.

Why Russia Shut Down NED Fronts

oExclusive: The neocon-flagship Washington Post fired
a propaganda broadside at President Putin for shutting down the Russian
activities of the National Endowment for Democracy, but left out key
facts like NED’s U.S. government funding, its quasi-CIA role, and its
plans for regime change in Moscow, writes Robert Parry.

By Robert Parry

The
Washington Post’s descent into the depths of neoconservative propaganda
– willfully misleading its readers on matters of grave importance –
apparently knws no bounds as was demonstrated with two deceptive
articles regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin and why his
government is cracking down on “foreign agents.”
If you read the Post’s editorial on Wednesday and a companion op-ed
by National Endowment for Democracy President Carl Gershman, you would
have been led to believe that Putin is delusional, paranoid and “power
mad” in his concern that outside money funneled into non-governmental
organizations represents a threat to Russian sovereignty.

Indonesia raises non-tariff barrier to protect local batik against imports

By Ridho Syukro

Jakarta. The Trade Ministry issued on Thursday a regulation requiring
all importers who bring in batik-patterned fabrics to register with the
ministry and secure a special permit to import the textile.

Domestic producers have long complained of a shrinking market share
as cheaper fabrics from Malaysia and China flood in thanks to a
free-trade agreement that has slashed import duties on the product.
Meanwhile, red tape, poor infrastructure, rising wages and a weakening
rupiah continue to push up local companies’ costs, driving up their
prices.

“Domestic-made batik has to be protected from the competition from
imported ones,” Trade Minister Rahmat Gobel said on Thursday. “Batik has
to be the host in its own home.”

Under the regulation, which takes effect as of Oct. 25, importers
must sign up with the Trade Ministry to secure a permit to import any
kind of fabric with a batik pattern.

The regulation also restricts the number of ports through which the
companies may ship in the textiles. These are Belawan in Medan, North
Sumatra; Tanjung Perak in Surabaya, East Java; Soekarno-Hatta in
Makassar, South Sulawesi; and Soekarno-Hatta International Airport
outside Jakarta.

The ministry will also require a report from an independent surveyor to verify the origin of the batik.

Indonesia imported $87 million worth of batik last year – mostly from
Malaysia and China – up 15 percent from 2012, when the country began
cutting the textile import duty under the Asean-China Free Trade
Agreement.

Greece – The Refugee Crisis and the Horror of Europe

A voice from Hellas, Greece. According to UNHCR about 50 million refugees are on the move every day on our globe. This is most likely an understatement, as this figure doesn’t take into account what takes place in the almost hermetically closed-off Central Africa, Congo, Zaïre, where western corporations are exploiting for a pittance and with millions of slaves precious metals, uranium, hydrocarbons and rare earths – and where millions have died over the past ten years, by butcher regimes supported and armed by the west – and where millions are on the run.

The real figure of refugees on the run is easily 60 to 65 million; forced migrants in temporary camps, in transit to nowhere and under the most horrible human and abject hygienic conditions, no running water, hardly any medical attention, sparse food if any. At least a quarter of them originate in the Middle East.

And most, if not all of these tens of millions, are fleeing countries destroyed directly or by proxy by the US empire and its European vassals. They try to escape as their homes have been burned to the ground, their families in many cases decimated. They are under constant threat of being bombed, by the ISIS and sorts, all fully funded by Washington, the EU, Turkey, the Saudis, Qatar – and militarily supported and trained by the CIA, Pentagon and NATO. This is not new. It has been known for years. But known to whom? The truth does still not penetrate the brain of most people. – Why? – Because the west is totally brainwashed with lies and distortions by its own corporate presstitute media.

I fully subscribe to Andre Vltchek’s  plea to the world – we must demand that at least public places like airports, railway stations, hotel lobbies switch channels from the bought rightwing, CNNs and BBCs of this world –to TeleSUR, CCTV, PressTV, RT and other emerging truth news channels. People must wake up. A growth swell of truth must engulf our western society – if we have any chance to be salvaged from ourselves.

Palestinians mourn infant killed in Israeli arson attack

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- The funeral of a Palestinian infant killed in an Israeli arson attack took place in the Nablus village of Duma after prayers on Friday.

Several thousand people took to the streets in the Palestinian village for the funeral of the toddler, whose body was wrapped in a Palestinian flag.

Earlier on Friday, Israeli settlers smashed the windows of two homes in Duma before throwing flammable liquids and Molotov cocktails inside.

Ali Saad Dawabsha, one-and-a-half years old, was trapped inside the family's home as the fire spread and died shortly after sustaining serious burns, locals said.

His parents and four-year-old brother were left with severe burns.

The mother was in critical condition with third-degree burns covering 90 percent of her body, an Israeli doctor told public radio. The father had burns on 80 percent of his body and the son 60 percent, with all of their lives in danger.

Destruction of Middle Class Continues

Fed continues to hold out false hope economy will turn around

Two week ago Janet Yellen, the current boss of the Federal Reserve, said the American worker would see an uptick in wages.

“Wage increases are still running at a low level, but there have been some tentative signs that wage growth is picking up,” Yellen said.
“We’ve seen an increase in the growth rate of the Employment Cost Index
and a mild uptick in the growth of average hourly earnings.”

Yellen’s prediction was trashed on Friday when the Labor Department
released figures on wages and salaries in the second quarter. The
numbers show a scant 0.2 percent increase in wages, the smallest since
records began in 1982. The dismal number followed a 0.7 percent increase
in the first quarter.

Zero Hedge
says this should not be surprising considering the fact the United
States was converted into part-time worker and minimum wage service
sector society.

The globalists have worked long and hard to transfer decent,
relatively high paying jobs to third world hellholes where people work
12 hours a day for a dollar an hour or less. This has resulted in a
massive and unprecedented concentration of wealth by large transnational
corporations and the destruction of a middle class in America.

The government has facilitated the gutting of the middle class by
imposing a blizzard of rules and regulations on business which in turn
encourages it to move operations overseas. Enabling by Congress is quite
natural considering it is owned by Wall Street, corporations and large banks

Spotlight: China boosts world economy via investment, capacity cooperation

As growth has become a scarcity for world economy since the international financial crisis struck in 2008, China is harnessing global economic growth by leading regional development, promoting capacity cooperation and establishing multilateral investment institutions.

China experienced a second-quarter economic growth of 7 percent at a time when the country actively seeks a slowdown in pace and focuses more on efficiency of its economy, making it still the main driver for the world economy.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has estimated that China contributed to global economic growth by 27.8 percent, higher than the U.S. contribution of 15.3 percent. The institution expects the Chinese figure to grow to 28.5 percent this year.

Shrinking demand caused by the international financial crisis has forced China to alter its traditional way of contributing to world economy mainly by foreign trade.

As a result, the world's second largest economy has changed its role from beneficiary of world trade to creator of new models of cooperation and from a commodity supplier to global market to a capital provider, innovating and upgrading the way it contributes to world economy while maintaining a stable growth in its contribution.

A US-Turkey Sponsored “Islamic State Free Zone” within Syria | Global Research - Centre for Research on Globalization

A US-Turkey Sponsored “Islamic State Free Zone” within Syria

An article in the New York Times was
published recently discussing that the US and Turkey had agreed to
create a ‘safe zone’ in Syria. Specifically the article stated that the
plan was to have “an Islamic State-free zone controlled by relatively
moderate Syrian insurgents, which the Turks say could also be a ‘safe
zone’ for displaced Syrians.”

Now, ignoring the fact that this is obviously a massive infringement
upon the sovereignty of the Syrian state, there are some problems with
this, as well as larger implications.

For starters, Turkey has actively been aiding ISIS. In November 2014, Newsweek ran an interview with
a former ISIS member in which he stated that he “travelled in a convoy
of trucks as part of an ISIS unit from their stronghold in Raqqa, across
Turkish border, through Turkey and then back across the border to
attack Syrian Kurds in the city of Serekaniye in northern Syria in
February” and that commanders told him and other fighters that they
nothing to fear “because there was full cooperation with the Turks.” The
very next month,Claudia Roth, then-deputy speaker of the German Parliament, noted that the Turkish government was aiding ISIS.

In addition to this, information just came to light from
a US Special Forces raid in May, which shows “undeniable” evidence that
“Turkish officials directly dealt with ranking ISIS members.”

The second problem is the hope that “relatively moderate Syrian
insurgents” will take over the area. This assumes that there are
moderates, which doesn’t seem to be true, given the fact that the US
essentially gave up on the Free Syrian Army when it decided to create an entirely new force of fighters. Before then, the US had been touting the FSA as moderates. (This, of course, doesn’t get into the fact that, for example, an FSA brigade commander admitted to working with Al Nusra and ISI or that a major beneficiary of this war on ISIS is AL Qaeda.)

US spied on Japan government, companies: WikiLeaks

Tokyo (AFP) - The US spy agency targeted Japanese politicians, its top central banker and major firms for years, WikiLeaks said on Friday, in the latest revelations about Washington's snooping on allies.

The intercepts exposing US National Security Agency activities follow other documents released by the whistleblower group that revealed spying on allies including Germany and France, straining relations.

Japan is one of Washington's key allies in the Asia-Pacific region and they regularly consult on defence, economic and trade issues.

The leaks comes as Prime Minister Shinzo Abe moves to expand the role of Japan's military, a move applauded by Washington but deeply unpopular at home.

The claims of spying on trade officials could prove particularly sensitive after high-profile talks kicked off this week in Hawaii aimed at hammering out a vast free-trade bloc encompassing 40 percent of the world's economy.

The United States, Japan, and 10 other Pacific Rim countries are looking to finalise the most ambitious trade deal in decades.

Malaysia will not sign any TPP pact in Hawaii

PETALING JAYA: As pivotal negotiations in the making or breaking of
the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) enter the final stretch, the
Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) has stated that
Malaysia will not sign any agreement during the current round of talks,
which runs until July 31, and sought to reassure critics that it will
stand firm on issues of sovereignty, government procurement, state-owned
enterprises and the bumiputra agenda.

The latest TPP Ministerial Meeting began on Tuesday in Hawaii, USA.

"Signing of the TPPA (Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement) will not
happen in Hawaii. Like Malaysia, each TPPA member will need to go
through its own domestic process before a final decision to sign and
ratify the TPPA is made," Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said in a
statement released yesterday.

"I wish to emphasise that as the Minister-in-charge of the TPPA
negotiations for Malaysia, it is my responsibility to ensure that our
Constitution, sovereignty and core policies of the nation, including the
interests of the Bumiputera community are safeguarded and upheld,"
said, adding that the meeting is also to ensure that the country’s
interests and concerns are addressed.

In acknowledging criticism against the ongoing TPPA negotiations,
Mustapa also addressed known concerns on the inclusion of the
Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) mechanism, government
procurement, capital controls, medicines, market access, position of
Islam as the official religion of Malaysia and the secrecy of the
negotiations.

On the ISDS, he said the TPPA does not prevent governments from
pursuing and regulating legitimate public policy objectives, especially
in areas such as national security, public health environment and
welfare and that a number of safeguards are being negotiated to address
key concerns, including the avoidance of frivolous challenges by
investors.

'Full of Holes': Major Powers Don't Support Anti-Russian Sanctions

Major economic powerhouses and rapidly developing countries, including China, India and South Korea, as well as Latin American nations and even Switzerland refuse to support the sanctions imposed on Russia, Eckhard Cordes said.

The sanctions regime, according to the chairman of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations (Ost-Ausschuss), is not working and is "full of holes." Therefore, there is no need to uphold it.

"Sadly, we have to assume that we will have to work under sanctions for a while. But it is already clear that neither the EU, nor Russians are interested in escalating the conflict. All the parties, including Ukraine, are hurt in the present context," he pointed out. "We hope that soon this deadlock could be resolved," he added.

Meanwhile, some of the German businesses are on the verge of collapse due to the restrictive measures imposed by the West on Russia without any sound reason.

"Major corporations can carry on even with sanctions present but they still struggle. Some firms saw their exports drop by 60 percent and they try to enter new markets. But small companies have found themselves in a situation which threatens their existence," Cordes noted.

Russia's pivot to Asia has long been a major concern for its business partners. Moscow's increasingly closer ties with China "could not possibly be in Germany's geostrategic or economic interests," Cordes asserted.

Derek Norberg, president of the Council of US-Russia Relations and Executive Director of the Russian American Pacific Partnership (RAPP), echoed the sentiment, saying that anti-Russian sanctions affect global trade, hurting business in Russia, the United States and Europe.

The strategy of ignoring and isolating Russia is obviously not working and should not be pursued, according to Norberg. Washington's policy towards Russia only forces Moscow to seek new alliances, for instance with China, which is not in the interest of the United States, he asserted.

Solarizing Greece is a way out of the crisis

Greece is facing a depression on a scale arguably comparable
to the US Great Depression of the late 1920s. Huge unemployment rates
and a dramatic drop in family incomes of over 40 percent have Greek
citizens pondering what the impacts will be of the new bail-out
agreement. Unending austerity and lack of hope are all it seems the
future has to offer.

But there is a way to start changing things for the better. With
energy poverty emerging as one of the most dramatic symptoms of the
recession – six out of every 10 households are struggling to pay their
energy bills – it is high time that Greece seized upon its greatest and
still largely unexploited asset: the Sun.

The new 'Solarize Greece' campaign by Greenpeace Greece
aims to bring together all those who dream of a brighter and more
sustainable future, not only for Greece but for all European countries.
Its objectives are to help Greece kickstart solar power as a driver of
the economy, to rid the country of the burden of fossil fuels that are
holding it down economically and for Greece to fight its way back out of
the crisis.

Solar power has worked minor miracles for Greece before. In the
turbulent decade of the 1970s that saw two major global energy crises,
the Greek government offered tax incentives to households for solar
water heaters, and a national policy was aimed at saving power. That led
to hundreds of thousands of households installing solar heaters and
significantly reduced energy bills. Equally important, a new industry was born
and soon solar heaters became one of Greece's finest export products.
It seemed then that the Sun had done its part to help Greece work its
way out of a tight spot.

Inequality and injustices of EPAs under fire

The countries of Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP) are not
on equal footing with the European Union, and as such Sir Ronald Sanders
is asserting that instead of calling for reciprocity, proportionality
should be a principle embedded in the Economic Partnership Agreement
(EPA).

Urging that the disparities between the African, Caribbean and
Pacific (ACP) Group and the European Union are drastic when placed in
the context of the EPA, addressing an audience at the EU-ECOWAS Economic
Partnership Conference in Abuja, Nigeria on Tuesday, was Sir Ronald.

He said, “‘Reciprocity’, as a principle, has a ring of fairness about it; but that is as between equals.”

“Between factors of unequal strength and capacity, ‘reciprocity’ is more than unfair; it is unjust.

“If you put a heavyweight and a featherweight in a boxing ring have
you staged an equal contest? Is the short-sightedness of this demand for
reciprocity, not obvious?”

“You would have thought the Europeans would know better; and of course they do.”

Centuries ago, Aristotle in his ‘Ethics’ propounded the doctrine
that: as between unequals, equity requires not reciprocity but
proportionality.

“The African, Caribbean and Pacific Group have long fought for proportionality.”

“It was at the heart of the Lomé and Cotonou agreements between the
EU and the ACP. It was at the root of the call for ‘special and
differential’ treatment for developing countries. It is the central
principle of fairness that requires movement towards ‘proportionality’
by special developmental measures in trade agreements between rich and
poor countries.”

South China Sea and Geopolitics of Islands

On 22 July, the Chinese press reported
that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army is carrying out ten days of
manoeuvres in the waters off the eastern island of Hainan in the South
China Sea. China’s Maritime Safety Administration has stated that during
the exercises, «no vessel is allowed to enter the designated maritime
areas».

Commenting
on the event, Xu Liping, an expert on Southeast Asian affairs at the
Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, noted that China is carrying out the
training exercises legitimately within its territory and they have
«nothing to do with the tension in the South China Sea... It is a normal
exercise of sovereignty. China wants to modernise its navy to make sure
it has the capability to protect its islands and waterway».

Shortly
before the exercises, meanwhile, the new commander of the US Pacific
Fleet, Admiral Scott Swift, carried out a seven-hour surveillance flight
over the South China Sea. On Monday 20 July, China’s Ministry of
Defence expressed its opposition to America’s frequent surveillance missions
that it believes are too close to China’s borders and seriously
undermining Sino-US trust. The old debate about who owns the region’s
islands has become a hot topic in numerous political publications once
more, especially in the US.

TPP: Former WTO head Pascal Lamy says TPP benefits ’modest’

by Geoff Winestock

The former head of the World Trade Organisation Pascal Lamy predicts
agreement will be reached on the Trans Pacific Partnership trade talks
this weekend, but says the significance of the deal has been over-hyped.

The Frenchman who retired as WTO director in 2009 told The Australian
Financial Review on Thursday on the fringes of the Boao Forum for Asia,
that the importance for the world economy of the TPP would be
"relatively modest".

With trade ministers of 12 countries including Australia’s Andrew
Robb trying to reach a deal this weekend at talks in Hawaii on cutting
trade barriers, Mr Lamy said, "It’s probably not worth the full-blown
trumpets claiming it is the first 21st century trade agreement".

The talks were supposed to set new modern standards in trade for fair
competition between state-owned enterprises and private firms and for
protection of foreign investment, but Mr Lamy said the countries in the
TPP were so diverse and at such different levels of development that the
"lowest common denominator will not be very high".

Press Release

Today, Friday 31 July 2015, 9am CEST, WikiLeaks publishes "Target Tokyo", 35 Top Secret NSA targets in Japan including the Japanese cabinet and Japanese companies such as Mitsubishi, together with intercepts relating to US-Japan relations, trade negotiations and sensitive climate change strategy.

The list indicates that NSA spying on Japanese conglomerates, government officials, ministries and senior advisers extends back at least as far as the first administration of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, which lasted from September 2006 until September 2007. The telephone interception target list includes the switchboard for the Japanese Cabinet Office; the executive secretary to the Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga; a line described as "Government VIP Line"; numerous officials within the Japanese Central Bank, including Governor Haruhiko Kuroda; the home phone number of at least one Central Bank official; numerous numbers within the Japanese Finance Ministry; the Japanese Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry Yoichi Miyazawa; the Natural Gas Division of Mitsubishi; and the Petroleum Division of Mitsui.

Today's publication also contains NSA reports from intercepts of senior Japanese government officials. Four of the reports are classified TOP SECRET. One of the reports is marked "REL TO USA, AUS, CAN, GBR, NZL", meaning it has been formally authorised to be released to the United States' "Five Eyes" intelligence partners: Australia, Canada, Great Britain and New Zealand.

The reports demonstrate the depth of US surveillance of the Japanese government, indicating that intelligence was gathered and processed from numerous Japanese government ministries and offices. The documents demonstrate intimate knowledge of internal Japanese deliberations on such issues as: agricultural imports and trade disputes; negotiating positions in the Doha Round of the World Trade Organization; Japanese technical development plans, climate change policy, nuclear and energy policy and carbon emissions schemes; correspondence with international bodies such as the International Energy Agency (IEA); strategy planning and draft talking points memoranda concerning the management of diplomatic relations with the United States and the European Union; and the content of a confidential Prime Ministerial briefing that took place at Shinzo Abe's official residence.

Kicked out of Russia: Moscow Challenges Washington’s Orwellian “National Endowment for Democracy”

NED’s duplicitous mission statement indicates a “dedicat(ion) to the growth and strengthening of democratic institutions around the world.”

Its practices are polar opposite – a State Department-funded agency created to undermine democracy wherever it exists.

It’s a global mischief-maker – a rogue agency financing anti-democratic groups and initiatives in scores of countries worldwide. Its objective is regime change – notably in independent nations like Russia. It subversively interferes in its electoral practices among other ways of targeting its sovereignty.

Moscow’s mid-year 2015 enacted Law on Undesirable Organizations justifiably targets foreign organizations posing a “threat to the constitutional order and defense capability or the security of the Russian state” – subversive groups no governments should tolerate.

On July 28, Russian Deputy Chief Prosecutor Vladimir Malinovsky

“signed a decree recognizing the activities of the National Endowment for Democracy, a foreign non-commercial organization, as undesirable in the territory of Russia in compliance with a law on measures of impacting people linked to the violation of basic human rights and freedoms and the rights and freedoms of the citizens of Russia.”

The document was sent to Russia’s Justice Ministry – including NED in its register of undesirable foreign organizations.

The Politics of Betrayal: Obama Backstabs Kurds to Appease Turkey

The Kurdish militias (YPG, PKK) have been Washington’s most effective weapon in the fight against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. But the Obama administration has sold out the Kurds in order to strengthen ties with Turkey and gain access to Turkey’s Incirlik Air Base. The agreement to switch sides was made in phone call between President Obama and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan less than 48 hours after a terrorist incident in the Turkish town of Suruc killed 32 people and wounded more than 100 others.

The bombing provided Obama with the cover he needed to throw the Kurds under the bus, cave in to Turkey’s demands, and look the other way while Turkish bombers and tanks pounded Kurdish positions in Syria and Iraq. The media has characterized this shocking reversal of US policy as a “game-changer” that will improve US prospects for victory over ISIS. But what the about-face really shows is Washington’s inability to conduct a principled foreign policy as well as Obama’s eagerness to betray a trusted friend and ally if he sees some advantage in doing so.

'Glyphosate is definitely genotoxic,' declares WHO scientist who authored Roundup cancer study

(NaturalNews) One of the lead scientists who helped conduct the World Health Organization (WHO) study on Monsanto's Roundup herbicide that determined the chemical to be "probably carcinogenic" has now gone on record saying that glyphosate is "definitely genotoxic."

Professor Christopher Portier, speaking at a recent scientific briefing on glyphosate in Westminster, London, told listeners that there's "no doubt" in his mind that glyphosate, the primary active ingredient in Roundup, causes genetic damage that can lead to cellular malfunction and cancer.

The event was put on by the U.K.-based Soil Association, which is pushing British authorities to implement a full ban on the use of glyphosate, which is commonly sprayed on genetically-modified (GM) crops and used as a pre-harvest ripening agent to help control weeds.

Recent data published by the Soil Association reveals that glyphosate use has increased by 400 percent in the U.K. over the last 20 years, and the chemical routinely shows up in bread samples. Data released by the Defra committee on Pesticide Residues in Food (PRiF) shows the presence of glyphosate in up to 30 percent of U.K. bread samples, along with two other pesticide chemicals.

Nonviolent Resistance: How Manufactured Revolutions Serve US Foreign Policy

Dr. Gene Sharp wrote “From Dictatorship to Democracy: A Conceptual Framework for Liberation”, in 1973, based on his thesis paper.

In 1983, Sharp founded the Albert Einstein Institute (AEI) which is a
non-profit organization that promotes the use of nonviolent action to
topple oppressive governments. The AEI receives its support
from globalist think-tanks and organizations that further agendas for
the Elite around the world. Members of the board of directors for AEI
come from the Ford Foundation and the RAND Corporation. Funding for the
AEI comes from:

• The Ford Foundation

• The International Republican Institute (IRI)

• The National Endowment for Democracy (NED)

The NED was created in 1983 to funnel funds to uprisings under the
guise of promoting democracy in developing nations. The US Congress
financially supports NED to achieve “democratic goals in more than 90
countries.”

The IRI is the organization that works with the nations directly to
install democracy in nations that have had a manufactured uprising.

While Sharp himself has become a pasty over the years, the use of the
AEI has aided in the exclusion of military tactics with regard to how
the US government finances and promotes the ideals set forth by Sharp to
control governments across the globe.

Sharp’s book is “a substitute for war and other violent action.” Its
effectiveness has been seen in the seemingly grassroots revolutions that
have rocked recent history. Tunisia, Syria, Egypt, Libya and Iran have
fallen victim to the ideology set forth by Sharp and its application
that is facilitated by citizens who unwittingly participate in the
over-throw of their government which happens to compliment the agendas
of the US government.

GMO OMG (2014)

GMO OMG director and concerned father
Jeremy Seifert is in search of answers. How do GMOs affect our
children, the health of our planet, and our freedom of choice? And
perhaps the ultimate question, which Seifert tests himself: is it even
possible to reject the food system currently in place, or have we lost
something we can’t gain back? These and other questions take Seifert on a
journey from his family’s table to Haiti, Paris, Norway, and the lobby
of agra-giant Monsanto, from which he is unceremoniously ejected. Along
the way we gain insight into a question that is of growing concern to
citizens the world over: what's on your plate?

Assange: the untold story of an epic struggle for justice

Assange: the untold story of an epic struggle for justice

John Pilger official website - johnpilger.com

Why hasn’t the Swedish prosecutor resolved the Julian Assange case? Many in the legal community in Sweden believe her behaviour inexplicable. Once implacably hostile to Assange, the Swedish press has published headlines such as: "Go to London, for God's sake."

So why hasn't she? More to the point, why won't she allow the Swedish court access to hundreds of SMS messages that the police extracted from the phone of one of the two women involved in the misconduct allegations?

Why won't she hand them over to Assange's Swedish lawyers? She says she is not legally required to do so until a formal charge is laid and she has questioned him.

Then, why doesn't she question him? And if she did question him, the conditions she would demand of him and his lawyers – that they could not challenge her – would make injustice a near certainty.

On a point of law, the Swedish Supreme Court has decided Ny can continue to obstruct on the vital issue of the SMS messages. This will now go to the European Court of Human Rights. What Ny fears is that the SMS messages will destroy her case against Assange. One of the messages makes clear that one of the women did not want any charges brought against Assange, "but the police were keen on getting a hold on him". She was "shocked" when they arrested him because she only "wanted him to take [an HIV] test". She "did not want to accuse JA of anything" and "it was the police who made up the charges". (In a witness statement, she is quoted as saying that she had been "railroaded by police and others around her".)

Western Official Confirms Turkey-ISIL Secret Oil Business

A Western official has confirmed the existence of clandestine
business links between Takfiri ISIL terrorists and the Turkish
government.

In a report published on Sunday, The Guardian quoted an unnamed
senior Western official as saying that evidence on direct dealings
between Turkish officials and ranking ISIL members was “undeniable.”

[As a result, the oil trade between the jihadis and the
Turks was held up as evidence of an alliance between the two. It led to
protests from Washington and Europe – both already wary of Turkey’s
900-mile border with Syria being used as a gateway by would-be jihadis from around the world. (Guardian, July 26, 2015) GR ed]

According to the Western official, the documents on the undeclared
alliance were obtained following a US raid on the compound of the
key ISIL figure, Abu Sayyaf, in Syria in May, which led to his killing.

“There are hundreds of flash drives and documents that were seized
there,” the official said. “They are being analyzed at the moment, but
the links are already so clear that they could end up having profound
policy implications for the relationship between us and Ankara.”

The NSA’s 9/11 Cover-Up

General Hayden Told a Lie, and It’s a Whopper

All tricksters, other than magicians, depend to a great
extent upon the fact that they are not known to be, or even suspected of
being, tricksters. Therein lies their great advantage.

— John Mulholland (H. Keith Melton and Robert Wallace, The Official CIA Manual of Trickery and Deception, William Morrow Paperbacks, 2010)

Magicians wield secrecy on the theater stage in the service of
illusions. Spies likewise wield illusion on the world stage in the
service of secrecy. So it is with the events behind the attacks of 9/11
where those who question the official story are derided as conspiracy
theorists. Thanks to the investigative digging of reporter James
Bamford, with the assistance of NSA whistleblowers like Thomas Drake and
Kirk Wiebe, the 9/11 crowd can now point to a conspiracy fact: an
incredible cover-up that goes all the way to the top of the American
intelligence community.

In a recent piece published by Foreign Policy
Bamford examines a phone call to a clandestine operations center run by
Osama bin Laden in Yemen during March of 2000. The phone call was
dialed by one of the 9/11 hijackers, Khalid al-Mihdhar,
from his apartment in San Diego. In fact, there were a number of such
phone calls made by 9/11 hijackers living in San Diego. Why didn’t our
security services immediately launch investigations?

According to then Director of the NSA, Michael Hayden, the NSA was
unable to determine the geographic origin of these calls despite the
fact that the phone line in Yemen (967-1-200-578) was under intense
scrutiny by NSA. The Yemen number was tracked using a form of
surveillance known as “cast-iron” coverage where dedicated resources were allocated to continuously monitor the line 24/7.

Taxation: Catalonia asserts its desire for independence

The president of Catalonia, Artur Mas presented last Monday a model of its own tax area. This model could emerge in case of declaration of independence.

He was thought stifled by recent failures. Despite opposition from Madrid without legal validity referendum on independence, held on November 9, Catalonia is far from abandoning his desire to break away from Spain. She even revived the fire last Monday with the presentation by Artur Mas, leader of the Catalan government, their tax model.
Make counterweight to Madrid

This model, he already mentioned in 2012, Madrid was immediately refused. But two months of plebiscitary regional elections that could accelerate the process of independence, if the separatists win, Artur Mas is ready to put the cover. Based on the Australian and Swedish examples, the project includes the establishment of a Fiscal Council, independent of the executive based in Madrid and the responsibility of the Catalan Parliament. This council would also be responsible for exercising control over the Catalan dependent agency that collects taxes collected in the territory. It is therefore a counterweight to state agencies. The model also provides for the creation of a union of the taxpayer, an agency of foreign trade and customs.
8 billion fiscal deficit

These bodies would complement each agency with a Catalan tax revenue. Catalonia would therefore like to run, if it becomes a state, reducing its fiscal deficit, estimated according to figures from the public treasury to nearly 8 billion euros (3.47% of GDP). The most prosperous regions generally pay more taxes. The independence of Catalonia so deeply upset the tax system of Spain. Rafael Catala, the Minister of Justice said he would do everything to "maintain constitutional order". The Rajoy government does not exclude the use of Article 155 of the constituion allowing it to replace the regional government does not respect "the obligations of the constitution."

Irresponsibly Bashing Russia Veto Against Establishing Kangaroo MH17 Tribunal | Global Research - Centre for Research on Globalization

Irresponsibly Bashing Russia Veto Against Establishing Kangaroo MH17 Tribunal

Neither Russia nor Donbass freedom fighters had anything to do with downing MH17. Not a shred of evidence suggests it.

Plenty points to Washington and Ukraine culpability. They had clear means, motive and opportunity – the key determinants for initiating a criminal proceeding. They and partnered nations want Moscow and rebels blamed for their crime.

The Obama administration conspired with Malaysia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia and Ukraine for unprecedented Security Council authorization for a tribunal to absolve culpable parties responsible for the incident and declare innocent ones guilty by accusation – a kangaroo process to be US manipulated and controlled to assure the outcome Washington wants.

Eleven nations voted “yes” (America, Britain, France, Chad, Chile, Jordan, Lithuania, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria and Spain). Three abstained (China, Venezuela and Angola).

Russia’s veto defeated the draft resolution. Envoy Vitaly Churkin criticized its backers for submitting a measure with no chance for passage – rejecting compromise language Moscow proposed.

CDC Whistleblower Drops Bomb On House Floor

Well this sure doesn’t look good for Big Pharmaceutical companies. Congressman Bill Posey, who represents Florida’s 8th congressional district, just let the House know exactly how he feels about the blatant vaccine deception that’s been taking place now for years. But will anyone hear him?

“Regardless of the subject matter, parents making decisions about their children’s health deserve to have the best information available to them…”

CDC held meeting of vaccine scientists to deliberately destroy evidence linking vaccines to autism

(NaturalNews) For a government that lies about everything -- fudging
economic numbers, using the IRS as a political weapon and even
manufacturing staged domestic terrorism events so the FBI can "catch
terrorists" in the act -- it's no surprise to now learn that the CDC
deliberately destroyed evidence linking vaccines to autism.

According to a new statement relayed today by Rep. Bill Posey, the
CDC held a meeting of scientists to decide which piece of evidence to
destroy that might link vaccines to autism in African-American children
.

Fearless indy media journalist Sharyl Attkisson first reported on this revelation. Attkisson's website is one of the thousands of independent media websites now favored on GoodGopher.com (the search engine for truth seekers) and FETCH.news, the internet's truth-based alternative to Google News.

Rep. Posey's statement contained this astonishing description of brazen CDC science fraud related by CDC scientists Dr. William Thompson: (bolding emphasis added)

My
primary job duties while working in the immunization safety branch from
2000 to 2006, were to later co-lead three major vaccine safety studies.
The MADDSP, MMR autism cases control study was being carried out in
response to the Wakefield-Lancet study that suggested an association
between the MMR vaccine and an autism-like health outcome.

There
were several major concerns among scientists and consumer advocates
outside the CDC in the fall of 2000, regarding the execution of the
Verstraeten Study. One of the important goals that was determined up
front, in the spring of 2001, before any of these studies started, was
to have all three protocols vetted outside the CDC
prior to the start of the analyses so consumer advocates could not
claim that we were presenting analyses that suited our own goals and
biases.

We hypothesized that if we found statistically significant effects at either 18 or 36 month thresholds, we would conclude that vaccinating children early with MMR vaccine could lead to autism-like characteristics or features. We all met and finalized the study
protocol and analysis plan. The goal was to not deviate from the
analysis plan to avoid the debacle that occurred with the Verstraeten
thimerosal study published in Pediatrics in 2003.

64 Nations Say No to GMO, Yet US Govt Nears Illegal GMO Labeling

Why don't we have the right to know?

The WHO has already declared that five of the major chemical herbicides used to grow GMO crops are either likely or definitely cancerous, yet the USA still makes secret trade deals that would allow biotech to push their genetically modified ‘food’ on Americans who don’t want to eat it.

Our right to know if we are even eating GMO crops is being taken away via legislation known as the Deny Americans the Right to Know Act (DARK) act. (This is officially known as the ‘Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act.)

More than 60 countries have already passed mandatory GMO labeling laws, and many will ban GMO crops altogether this year if they haven’t already. You can see a great map of these GM labeling bans here.

Greece was forced to accept 'recessionary' bailout deal - Tsipras

The deal with creditors was “not of
our choice,” Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has said, adding that Greece
faced the dilemma between a difficult compromise and disorderly default.

Speaking to the Syriza committee in Athens Thursday, Tsipras tried to
defend Greece’s €86 billion bailout deal with the international
creditors, saying that Grexit was not a choice. It would have forced
Athens into devaluation and going back to the IMF for support, he added.
“If someone believes another government could have brought back a
better deal they should say so,” Kathimerini newspaper quoted Tsipras as
saying.
The PM added that Syriza’s efforts had managed to stir up the EU.
“We created the first cracks in Europe's neoliberal hegemony. We have
to give a definitive answer on whether a leftist government can exist in
a liberal, conservative Europe,” Tsipras said.
This month, Tsipras reached an agreement with the troika of creditors
on a €86 billion 3-year financial aid deal. The offer demands further
austerity including tax hikes and raising the retirement age.
Many members of Syriza, including former finance minister Yanis
Varoufakis, openly consider Alexis Tsipras’ policy contradictory to the
results of the July 5 referendum, in which 61 percent voted against
austerity. The lack of unanimity in the Greek parliament may put an end
to the coalition and thus lead to new elections.
The Greek parliament has already adopted two packages of changes,
which allowed Athens to kick off negotiations with creditors on
unlocking the bailout.
Greece intends to finish the talks by August 20, when a €3.2 billion bond repayment to the ECB is due.
"There is a viewpoint the blackmail (by creditors) was not real, and
there should not be an agreement. This view cannot wait until the
extraordinary congress,” Tsipras said, suggesting a ballot on the issue
on Sunday.
