The shame of Obama’s immigration policy is extraordinary — this new multi-part Guardian series reveals that two MILLION people have been deported — most for minor crimes or for no crimes at all. These folks are taken from their loved ones, split from their families — even though Obama, the article notes, has been representing his deportation policy as aimed at “gang-bangers’ and serious criminals.

There have been protests recently in a number of cities, and Obama has asked the Department of Homeland Security to see if it can go ahead with his mass deportation policy ‘more humanely.’ In response to those protests. (I am relieved that the protesters themselves have not been subjected to violence — remember my post yesterday about the young woman, a member of Occupy, who is facing seven years in prison for pushing what she thought was a predatory hand from her breast, during an arrest — an altercation now construed by the prosecution as assaulting a police officer).
