Puigdemont, at the prestigious Chatham House in London: ‘Independence is a real thing’

Catalonia’ at the second most prestigious 'think tank' in the world
The Catalan government’s wager on independence ‘is a real thing’,
said Carles Puigdemont at the talk he gave this evening at the
prestigious Chatham House in London. Here, he gave the talk ‘Tracing the
path to the independence of Catalonia’, where he explained the
political, social and economic arguments that have led to the
independentist process, recalling the path from the Constitutional Court
sentence against the statute of autonomy to the present day. Puigdemont
wanted to be clear in the determination to go ahead with the process
and to do so in a negotiated, and not unilateral, manner despite the
closed attitude of the Spanish government. ‘The answer will not come
from Madrid; it must rather come from Europe, as the Spanish state is
failing to appear’, he declared.
