The Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity : Pentagon Seeks Another $6 Billion for Overseas Troop Deployments
The Pentagon needs more money to keep fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq
and will seek to sneak a six billion dollar request into the expected
"emergency" funding bill to come up early next month. Seeking the
additional funding as an "urgent" and "emergency" request is an
accounting trick to continue wars overseas at a high rate while
appearing to adhere to spending caps. It is telling that after 15 years
in Afghanistan (where the war is all but lost) and 13 years in Iraq
(which spawned ISIS and a whole new war in Syria), it is still
considered an "emergency."
