When Colorado activists gathered enough signatures to put an
anti-fracking measure on the ballot, the fossil fuel companies poured
$40 million into defeating it—and
they've even put forward a state constitutional amendment to make it
much harder for local governments to regulate their industry. Voters
will decide both measures today.
