EXILED former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont, his former deputy
Oriol Junqueras and Toni Comin – one of his ex-ministers who is also in
self-imposed exile –were all elected as MEPs as pro-independence parties
dominated in the European elections in Catalonia.
Their success overshadowed that of Pedro Sanchez, whose Socialists topped the poll across Spain.
