Obama Proves He's Really Good at Killing People
Why is being a successful killer a prerequisite to holding positions of power?
According to a new book, US President Barack Obama told his aides during the last election that he's "really good at killing people."

I can't help but feel like we can't call what we're doing here a 'civilization' in the truest sense until success as leaders is defined by how good we are at *not* killing people. Rather than tallying up the deaths of our supposed enemies as a metric of progress, we should count every death as failure.
The same goes for the concept of "winning" wars. Because winning a war implies you still have war, you still have losers and winners, people dying, most often innocent people dying, and more cycles of violence almost guaranteed. To 'win' a war in this way is still a loss; it's still a monumental failure of nations to resolve differences peacefully.
Let's declare victory when war has finally been abolished completely - when there are no zero-sum games to play with winners and losers, where victory for one arbitrarily defined set of people no longer means suffering and loss for another set.
Let's declare victory when we never 'win' wars ever again.
