Unfortunately I think this question is a lob which intends to be a gotcha moment which kind of backfires. While the US is rich, and could go down that renumeration alley, it is the corporate attitude towards profit that has been the true shirkers. But even that misses the point. This is one world with one sky, one gigantic water-based ecosystem and a whole bunch of species vying for survival. Until we bury the blame game and ALL get on the same page, we are doomed to a destructive corporate-driven decimation of precious resources. Who is ultimately responsible? ALL of us as consumers. Cynicism will solve little. Personal behavior is a start. And so is a voter tax-- VOTING should be mandatory-- fined if you don't.
