Democrats vote to overhaul superdelegate system | TheHill
People power made this happen.
We continue to demand the
abolition of superdelegates. This is not enough. With that said and
emphasized, we also see reason to celebrate
here. The struggle against superdelegates, and our fight to win broad
democratic reform both within and outside the party, has expanded the
capacity of the democracy movement.
We are stronger today than we were before we built the power to make
this compromise happen--and that means we are more capable than ever of
nonviolently escalating and confronting the plutocrats.
Meanwhile: we still demand that the presidential nominee and
Congressional leaders publicly commit to pass sweeping democracy reforms
to overturn Citizens United, establish publicly funded elections, and
ensure comprehensive voting rights protections for all Americans within
the first 100 days of a new administration. And we'll see you in the
streets.
