The World Organization Against Torture criticizes Spain at the UN for the repression and excessive use of force https://t.co/s8JjOPQ4Hj
The
report also speaks of repression against civil society: 'We are also
concerned about the growing repression and stigmatization of human
rights defenders in a number of countries, such as Mexico, Greece, Spain
and France, as well as by the restrictive laws that seriously impact
the efforts of civil society, such as in Hungary. '
OMCT asks the United Nations what steps it will take to ensure that
activists can continue their activities in exile, so that states can not
silence their voices and those of other victims.
With respect to the tortures suffered by migrants and refugees, it
questions what measures must be taken to ensure that governments do not
reach agreements with more states and non-state actors that are not
responsible for guaranteeing the rights of these people.
