It’s clear that U.S. policy in Syria is to make life as miserable as
possible for both Russia and the Syrian people. Syria is of such
strategic importance to our foreign policy goals of encirclement that no
matter the facts on the ground or the growing distaste for war abroad
at home, U.S. foreign policy architects are on auto-pilot.
