US claims that the Syrian government is using chlorine gas in Ghouta are
spurious at best. Why would Assad bother with ineffective weapons when
conventional weapons are serving him well. What's really going on? The
US is inventing a reason to use force against Syria as a way to fight
Iran and roll Russia back. This is a very dangerous policy. As a result,
Syria will become a battlefield where powerful actors clash in their
pursuit of strategic goals. That will be much worse than fighting
jihadists.
