Kosovo is not Serbia’s Kurdistan, but Balkan’s IS/Daesh

 By Elena BEKIC (Serbia)

Kosovo is not Serbia’s Kurdistan, but Balkan’s IS/Daesh

In the article “Kurdistan – Turkey’s Kosovo”
Prof. Sotirović compared different aspects of Turkish Kurdistan case to
the Kosovo one, found some parallels and pointed out Turkey’s
hypocrisy.

While Prof. Sotirović is right in his assessment that Turkey is
hypocritical to say at least, he failed to expose the fundamental
differences between Kurdistan and Kosovo. His article contains some
inaccuracies, misinterpretations and lacks in detail. Such an imprecise
comparison may lead a reader who is not familiar with Balkans to acquire
a false impression. A reader might come to conclusion that Kosovo
Albanians had experienced the same level of suffering and injustice as
did the Kurds which later led them to rebellion. That would seriously
mislead the readers.

To substantiate this view let’s point out few errors in the article in question.

British government refuses to answer information requests on secret EU meetings with lobbyists

28th March 2016 / EU
EU lobbyists carry far more weight than public interest groups with 88% more representation in meetings

The Alliance for Lobbying Transparency and Ethics Regulation
(ALTER-EU) has been investigating EU member state permanent
representations, finding out to what extent they are a target of
lobbying. This article takes certain extracts from that report to focus
on Britain’s response to requests for information – the results should
raise an eyebrow. This report also provides an insight into the secrecy
of British government actions within the EU and casts doubt over
government integrity, particularly when taking negotiations of TTIP into
consideration where the EU Commission, met corporate lobby groups in 88
percent of 597 meetings.

The member state permanent representations, like the Council and the
European Council, are not party to the EU lobby transparency rules. In
fact, the Council has consistently emphasised that member states’
governments, including their permanent representations in Brussels,
should not be covered by EU transparency regulations.

However, as the EU media outlet Politico, recently wrote, “Most
lobbyists we speak to agree that permanent representations are a soft
touch: All you need is the right policy officer and you can come into
close contact with the policy formulation at its most influential stage.
This is how you get policy input into the Council of Ministers and it’s
considerably cheaper than having to deal with member states in capital
cities.”

Marines Battle ISIS To Defend Iraqi Oil Fields

The Islamic State group is trying
to retake control of the oil fields it lost two years ago in the
semi-autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan by launching rockets at
Kurdish and Iraqi soldiers. In an attempt to earn back the massive
amount of cash it used to fund its international terrorism in 2014, the
group has focused its resources on attacking Makhmur, a city just 75
miles miles from the oil-rich city of Kirkuk. So far, the group, also
known as ISIS, has succeeded in outgunning the Iraqi forces in the city,
but a new contingent of American Marines might change the outcome on
the ground.

“Several weeks ago, thousands of Iraqi troops began occupying a
tactical assembly area in Makhmur. This is part of the force generation
associated with the liberation of Mosul,” Col. Steve Warren, spokesman
for the fight against ISIS in Iraq and Syria, said in a press briefing
this week. Mosul is the de facto ISIS headquarters in Iraq. “These Iraqi
forces, along with their coalition advisers, require force protection,”
Warren said. “So we constructed a small fire base to do just that.”

The U.S. Marines in Iraq are on the front line and have been tasked
with protecting Iraqi units in Makhmur — a scenario President Barack
Obama wanted to avoid as long as possible during his time in office.

In a statement before meeting with congressional leaders on Sept. 3,
2013, Obama talked about his plan to combat ISIS and said: “The key
point that I want to emphasize to the American people: The military plan
that has been developed by our Joint Chiefs — and that I believe is
appropriate — is proportional. It is limited. It does not involve boots
on the ground. This is not Iraq, and this is not Afghanistan.”

There are now more than 3,200
U.S. personnel in Iraq. Many have been tasked with training Iraqi
soldiers, but others, such as the new contingent of Marines, are in
active battles or are leading special operations to rescue hostages. Two
American soldiers have died in Iraq since the U.S. deployed soldiers
last year.

US Marines Enter Ground Combat in Iraq to Defend Oil Fields

US Marines Enter Ground Combat in Iraq to Defend Oil Fields

US Marines Enter Ground Combat in Iraq to Defend Oil Fields

(ANTIWAR) Even
as Pentagon officials have sought to emphasize their claims of ISIS
being “on the run,” ever more US ground troops are being deployed into
Iraq to try to cope with ISIS offensives, with the battle of Makhmur leading to the introduction of US Marines in front-line combat roles.

Officials are trying to downplay the operation as “force protection”
for Iraqi ground troops, who have been massing in the area in an effort
to ultimately launch an attack on the ISIS-held city of Mosul, not far
away.

The explanation is unsatisfying for several reasons, but primarily
because this “tactical assembly area” already includes thousands of
Iraqi troops and Kurdish Peshmerga, and these are the same troops who
are supposed to attack Mosul. Yet these troops are apparently unable to
even hold Makhmur, let alone advance toward Mosul.

The Makhmur District is also a key to holding oil fields around
Kirkuk, and the ISIS offensive is seen by many analysts as part of an
effort to ultimately regain control over those lucrative oil fields, and
have been “outgunning” the thousands of Iraqi troops in the area.

Whether they’re trying to save Iraqi ground troops who still can’t
stand up to ISIS, or save oil fields, however, the latest escalation
puts US troops even further in harm’s way, and has put the war even
further afield from the “no boots on the ground” affair initially
promised by the Obama Administration.

Gaddafi The Truth About Libya-Censored Documentary

Insight into the events that led up to
NATO intervention in Libya, On 17 May 2011 the International Criminal
Court issued a request for an arrest warrant against Gaddafi for crimes
against humanity. Some believe it is about protecting civilians, others
say it is about oil, but some are convinced intervention in Libya is all
about Gaddafi's plan to introduce the gold dinar, a single African
currency made from gold, a true sharing of the wealth.

The US succeeded in Libya and thought Syria would be a pushover by
using the same tactics. Watch the video and see the same lies, that they
are using in Syria today.

Hillary Clinton admitted to killing Gaddafi when she said we “Came we
saw, he died“. She should be tried for the murder of him. If a leader
from another country went to the US and killed your President, I am sure
that leader would be charged with murder. It is time that the US
government that has committed all these crimes against humanity and
murder are brought to trial.

The End of America's Two-Party System May Be upon Us

The End of America's Two-Party System May Be upon Us:

The End of America’s Two-Party System May Be upon Us

(UR) Washington, D.C. —  There’s a reason most parliamentary and presidential democracies
have more than two political parties, and both Trump and Sanders are
examples of why. Both nominee-hopefuls have increasingly come to
represent polar opposites of the singular problem that the American two-party political system is suffering from: Stagnation.

With only two parties, what this presidential race is showing is that
there has been a tendency for those parties to become static and
unbending in their policy, stance, and platform. Historically, one or
both of the parties must then break, either because the progressive
edges within the party force it apart, or voters start to see the party
as inflexible and obsolete. It has happened before in the U.S., and it looks like it is happening again. The recent increase of voters registering as independent, as well as the parallel growth in independent candidates, is a good example of the level of dissatisfaction
people and politicians now have with the GOP and Democratic Party. It
is also an indication that American democracy is changing. Again.

The inclusion of Sanders in the Democratic Party,
Trump in the Republican, and the cataclysmic portrayal of them both in
the media, has only confused the issue. This is particularly noticeable
as Trump is often blamed for the imminent demise of the GOP as a relevant institution.
With both candidates running for the nomination of their respective
parties, the GOP and the Democratic Party appear internally fractured,
split on major issues and confused as to their directions. This can only
be the case in a two-party system.

As a country with a long history of a two-party system, these
internal party divisions can feel like a breakdown of sorts. In a
multi-party system, however, the issue would not be so destabilizing.
Although a multi-party democracy does have the down side of sometimes
appearing to have too many parties
and politicians to choose from, space exists within the system to have
the centre-left (Democratic Party) and centre-right (GOP) represented,
while far-left and -right candidates don’t tear the centrist parties apart from within.

How Narratives Killed The Syrian People:

There's no hiding the truth anymore: Wikileaks dumps confirm that since
2006, Western media ideas and objectives were crafted, framed and
finessed and then employed to great efficacy to foment instability in
Syria - one of the most religiously diverse and modern nations in the
Middle East. The result? The largest refugee crisis in human history,
over 250,000 civilians dead and the rise of Taliban style terrorist
groups like ISIS that the US and its allies created that is slaughtering
Muslims across the ME and now being exported to Europe to justify
continued military action.
