Fighting forced eviction in Nigeria

Fighting forced eviction in Nigeria

For the majority of us the 23 February 2013 was just a normal day. This wasn't the case for the Badia East community of the Lagos State in Nigeria.
On that day 2,237 homes were demolished by the police without warning and residents left to fend for themselves. They have still received no compensation and frequently suffer harassment at the hands of the authorities. Urge the Lagos State government to stop all forced evictions and to ensure the families receive the compensation and alternative housing they deserve. http://bit.ly/badiaeast
