Thousands of textile workers go to Cambodia for a pay rise on the road. Since Thursday, the protests are becoming more violent: Protesters throw stones, bottles and gasoline bombs. The policemen shoot with assault rifles and pistols into the crowd and take casualties in purchasing.
In the textile industry of Cambodia around 650,000 people are employed. 400,000 of them sew for international fashion brands such as Gap, Nike and H & M. The sector is an important source of foreign exchange for the Asian kingdom.
