it's not that people are lying. It's worse than that. It's internalized.
You really believe the falsehoods you're producing. Like a well-run
totalitarian society, or a well-run religious faith where people don't
lie when they say there are miracles. They believe it. And people aren't
lying when they say it's a market society. It's just sort of driven
into them that you don't question it even though the counter-evidence is
right in your face.
