The EU and US are working on a plan for significant short-term
financial assistance for Ukraine, EU foreign policy chief Catherine
Ashton was quoted as saying yesterday. Ukraine won a $15 billion (€11
billion) bailout pledge from Russia earlier and is struggling
economically throughout the political crisis.
