While many praise the Trans-Pacific Partnership as free trade, one must
be wary not only due to the geopolitical aspects, but also due to it
being so secret that “often times, members of Congress and Parliament
are denied access to them, even though the agreement will set out legal
obligations that these elected officials will be expected to meet.”[9]
However, the TPP is not the only secretive trade deal currently being
discussed. There is also the Transatlantic Trade and Investment
Partnership.
