25 Friends of the Earth activists were
arrested yesterday at the Dutch Microsoft head office for smearing the
building with ‘dirty hands’. The protest was to draw attention to how
the electronics company is disregarding environmental damage
caused by the tin mining industry in Indonesia. Microsoft is so far
refusing to publicly declare intentions to move its purchasing toward
sustainable tin sources in Indonesia.
