Tribes and farmers unite to end oil palm expansion in Philippines - Survival International

Tribes and farmers unite to end oil palm expansion in Philippines - Survival International

Palawan in the Philippines was recently voted the best island in the
world because of its natural beauty. But oil palm plantations are
destroying the forests which tribal peoples depend on to survive. Now
the tribes have joined forces with small-scale farmers to put an end to
the expansion of oil palm on their land.

Palawan tribal people say that their coconut trees are dying because of pests spreading from the oil palm plantations.
