The amount of money spent on lobbying is a really important indicator of
size and likely influence. A look at the list of top-spending NGOs
(non-governmental, non-profit research and campaign groups) on lobbying
in Brussels shows huge data quality problems with the EU transparency
register. We often highlight this when it comes to the major corporate
players, but unfortunately, the NGO sector is not immune to the
problems!
