For First Time in Decade, Israel Plans to Expand Jewish Settlement in Hebron - Israel News - Haaretz
Breaking the Silence
Rewarding the settlers!
Yesterday, we read that the government
has approved, for the first time in about a decade, the building of new
houses in one of Hebron's settlements.
Are you ready for this? The settlement is situated inside the army
base, "Mitkanim," in the heart of the Palestinian city of Hebron.
We served at "Mitkanim" and know how ridiculous it is that a settlement
is situated inside an army base: we would see children playing next to
our grenade ammunition stocks before heading out to missions, settlers
would listen in on our pre-patrol briefings and even give us
instructions on how to implement our orders.
The government of
Israel has decided to further deepen the occupation, to expand the
settlement of Hebron and to risk the lives of further soldiers.
We have just one question - Who are you sending us to protect? Israel, or the occupation?
