‘Better Regulation’ to make things worse | Corporate Europe Observatory
With cancer still the cause of 1 in 4 deaths in the EU and almost everybody being in some way personally affected by the illness at
one point in their lives, research efforts and medical advances are on the increase. But so is the lobbying of many industries against
stricter regulation of cancer-causing substances in the workplace.
As more than 100,000 people a year die across the EU because they are not sufficiently protected against work-related cancers, this lobbying is a real threat to public health.
