Dear Europe - A Call To Vote for Unity, Against Authoritarianism

Dear Europe - A Call To Vote for Unity, Against Authoritarianism

Far right parties and authoritarian leaders are standing for election
throughout Europe. This video lays out some of the issues we face, but
boiling it all down to encouraging
people to vote is reductionist and does not take into account the wider
systemic problems. With an entrenched economic and political system that
doesn't work for the majority, no matter who is elected at the moment
the underlying problems will persist. Alternatives that offer a move
toward true direct democracy are desperately needed but still sadly
lacking in many places. There are exceptions, from the Icelandic Pirate
Party to the 15-M movement in Spain, that are truly democratic,
bottom-up, ways of organising. We're in the process of curating an
article that looks at these sorts of movements and would love to get
your input. Please comment and let us know what you think are the most
promising political movements right now.
