Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland
announced more sanctions against the Maduro government on the grounds
that he is “depriving Venezuelans of their most basic rights and needs”
and that “Canada is committed to supporting the peaceful restoration of
constitutional democracy in Venezuela.”
