BEIRUT (Analysis) –– Interpol may be on the hunt for the former mayor of Libya’s capital of Tripoli – an Irish-Libyan man who has been named as an international terrorist by Saudi Arabia.

Mahdi al-Harati has lived in Malta on-and-off since 2014. In January 2017, he was arrested due to his involvement in a knife attack in Malta that occurred between two Libyans, as all three had gotten into a political argument that grew out of control.

It is odd that al-Harati would seek safe harbor in Malta, which is a
small island in the Mediterranean Sea. However, it is this very sea in
which al-Harati first sailed into the international spotlight due to his
associations with al-Qaeda and other terror groups. His relatively
recent arrest has brought renewed attention to his past, including his
history of recruiting terrorists – with the help of the CIA – for the
purpose of aiding in Western-backed regime change efforts.

their debts.”

The decision by the ECB came about as a
result of lack of capital. The Single Resolution Board (SRB) concluded

two banks are to be wound up under Italian insolvency procedures.

Aluminium in brain tissue in familial Alzheimer’s disease

"Aluminium is neurotoxic [11] and [23] and the concentrations of
aluminium found in these familial AD brains are unlikely to be benign
and indeed are highly likely to have contributed to both the onset and
the aggressive nature of any ongoing AD in these individuals. These data
lend support to the recent conclusion that brain aluminium will
contribute towards all forms of AD under certain conditions [15]."

The aluminium content of brain tissue donated by individuals with a
diagnosis of familial and probable familial Alzheimer’s disease was,
overall, extremely high. The mean aluminium data for each lobe across
all 12 donors are significantly higher (P < 0.05 in each case) than
equivalent data (using identical methods and quality assurance indices)
for the same lobes from a previous study which included 60 human brains
of which ca 60% had been diagnosed as sporadic Alzheimer’s disease [8]
and [12]. Herein we measured some of the highest values recorded for
individual samples of human brain tissue, for example to highlight just a
few, 11.54 μg/g in the occipital lobe of donor A2, 13.41 μg/g in the
frontal lobe of A5, 25.80 μg/g in the occipital lobe of A6, 35.65 μg/g
in the frontal lobe of A8 and 23.93 μg/g in the occipital lobe of A11
(Table 1).

Israel targets Syrian artillery positions

The IDF struck two artillery launchers and an ammunition truck
on the Syrian side of the border after “several Syrian projectiles”
landed in Israeli territory without causing any casualties. A similar
incident occurred in the same Golan Heights region on Saturday.

“In
response to several Syrian projectiles launched towards Israel, IDF
targeted 2 Syrian regime artillery positions & an ammunitions
truck,” the Israel Defense Forces tweeted on their official feed on Sunday afternoon.

The tweet came three hours after the IDF said Syrian projectiles had “hit an open area in the northern Golan Heights,” while noting that “no injuries were reported.”
