Containers: To encrypt your data

To create an encrypted container for your files - in ten simple and quick steps.

1 We recommend the free program TrueCrypt, among other things here that you can download. Please pay attention that you choose the correct version for your operating system (Windows, Mac, etc.).

2 If you have installed and started TrueCrypt, go to the "Create Volume" button.

3 At the next window the box "Create an encrypted container" is already checked, so just press the button "next".

4 Do the same with the next window - click here simply click "next" to create a standard container.

5 At the following step, you can wrap the container with a title of your choice and select a location for it. Click "Select File" and enter a name and location (desk, desktop, etc.).

6 Next, place the encryption standard you let "AES" are available as standard, and click "next".

7 Now you can choose the size of the container - it should be based on the size of the files you want to send us, and be slightly larger than this. Then click again on "next".

8 Now you need to enter a password. It should not be less than ten characters long and preferably consist of a combination of letters and numbers. For security reasons you need to enter it twice, then it continues with "next".

9 When you format, you can accept the defaults ("Fat") and simply click again on "next".

10th Move your mouse randomly for five seconds on the screen and then click on "Format."

So that the container is created. This container you can now drag the TrueCrypt boot screen. Then click the "Mount" button and enter your new password. This will open the container in which you can drag your files. If you then click "Dismount", these are kept in the encrypted container. You can now burn it to a CD-ROM or DVD or transfer them to a USB stick - before leaving the media come (by mail). The necessary password, you should send us on one of the other specified ways - or by separate post.
