This cable is in response to reftel request
for information from Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets
Control (OFAC) on Ahmed Nur Ali Jumale and the Al-Barakaat
group of companies. We obtained all of the information on
the various entities in all locations directly from Mr.
Jumale. Since the listing of Jumale and al-Barakaat in 2001,
most of these organizations are now defunct. Post recommends
that the investigation process be expedited and that
Washington strongly considers the case for de-listing Jumale
and al-Barakaat. #Somalia #Terrorism
