Did Academia Make Up 97% Climate Science Consensus? - Top US World News | Susanne Posel Daily Headlines and Research:
The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) released a report claiming that because of rising sea levels, wildfires and flooding due to man-made climate change several of the landmarks in the US are being threatened.
Adam Markham, co-author of the report and director of climate impacts for the UCS said: “You can almost trace the history of the United States through these sites. The imminent risks to these sites and the artifacts they contain threaten to pull apart the quilt that tells the story of the nation’s heritage and history.”
Landmarks that were identified as at risk include:
• The Florida Everglades
• Cape Canaveral
• The César Chávez National Monument
• The Statue of Liberty
• Ellis Island
