The Den of them: The Building Box and prostitution in Niterói
On the day that the profession is remembered across the world, Brazil
forgets that still criminalize and arrest men and women who make sex
their income generation.
In Niterói, the Building Box is known

apartments that last week, were raided by officers from the 76th Police
Precinct and DEAM Niterói. Warrantless officers raided four floors of

LEGAL PROCEDURES
The criminalization of
prostitution is a theme that circulates the halls of Congress with the
Federal Project No. 4.211/2012, proposed by Mr Jean Willys. The proposal

based on the Human Rights Commission and seeks to guarantee the right to
the body and the individual freedoms of men and women who wish to
pursue the profession.
To deal with the case, a Public Hearing was
convened by Mrs Agnes Pandeló , chairman of the Committee for the
Defense of Women's Rights Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de
Janeiro, Marcelo and Mr Ash, president of the Human Rights Commission of
Alerj and shall address the violation of human rights in action and
approach to prostitutes in Niterói. The Hearing will be held on June 4,
2014 at 13:30 am, in Room 311 of the Tiradentes Palace ALRG.
