The D19-20 Alliance Call to Action Against TTIP and Austerity | Corporate Europe Observatory
The Belgian D19-20 Alliance, in which CEO is a coordinating committee
member, has put out a call with French trade union Solidaire asking all
Europeans to take to the streets on December 19th, 2014, as the second
day of the European Council Summit takes place. It will be at the end of
two months of escalation of civil disobedience and pressure in the
streets from trade unions, farmers, NGOs, activists and all concerned
citizens as the new right-wing Belgium government, with the
encouragement and support of the their European counterparts and the
Brussels institutions, imposes deeper and more painful cuts to welfare
and public services, at the same time as pursuing the destructive
transatlantic trade deal to create the world's biggest single market.
