Leaked Documents: EU Helped Erdogan Win Elections

Leaked documents about a meeting between Turkish president Erdogan,
European Union commissioner Juncker, and the president of the European
Union council Tusk on November 16, 2015 in Ankara, Turkey revealed that
the European Union (EU) helped Erdogan win elections.

The
documents also show that Erdogan blackmailed the EU by threatening to
flood it with refugees. The documents were published on the Greek
Finance website Euro2Day

After
Erdogan failed to achieve an absolute majority during the elections in
June 2014, he forced Turkey into civil war, destroying several cities in
the Kurdish regions and killing many people in the process. Erdogan
also cracked down on journalists, and against anybody critical of his
ruling AKP party. New elections were held and Erdogan’s AKP had
better results, which paved the way for him to rewrite the constitution
and install an executive presidency.

Earlier this week 60 dead
bodies were found in Cizre, but that didn’t provoke a strong response
from the EU. German chancellor Angela Merkel was visiting Erdogan when
the news of the massacre in Cizre came out, but she didn’t condemn the
killing in Turkey. She also didn’t comment on the attacks by Turkish government media and even prime minister Davutoglu
against Turkish born German journalist Deniz Yücel, after he asked
Merkel during a press conference in Ankara on Monday what her
position is on claims from the Turkish opposition that she ignores
grievances in Turkey because of German cooperation with the Turkish
state against refugees.
