Russian president Putin did not directly challenge Israeli prime
minister Netanyahu's threat to attack Iranians who remain inside Syria,
but through his foreign minister he
indicated that remaining troops may well be under Russian protection.
Even Washington seems to have agreed to allow Iranian-backed militias to
take up positions in Syria less than ten kilometers from the Golan
Heights region. But is the US trying to set a trap, hoping that Israel
attacks Syria so that Washington can come to the aid of its "ally"?
