Children as Young as 10 Targeted by Police For Stop and Search - | Intellihub News:
UNITED KINGDOM (INTELLIHUB) — Police have been targeting small children for their stop and frisk program, leading to the arrest of children as young as 10, and in some cases even younger.
Figures released under the freedom of information act show that 35 primary age children were subject to stop and search by West Midlands Police in 2010 and 2011. That number rose to 54 in 2011 and 2012 before dropping back to 43 last year.
In the same period more than 23,000 teenagers under the age of 17 were stopped and searched. Of these 1,582 were arrested by West Midlands Police, The Coventry Telegraph reported.[1]
