Spirit of revolt drifts South as anti-austerity protests rock Sudan | ROAR Magazine:

 After years of neoliberal reform, authoritarian rule and increasing misery, further austerity measures drive the people of Sudan back into the street.

As protests rock Sudan and the violent state crackdown mirrors the governments' reactions to popular indignation we have already seen across the Arab world, the question arises whether this is the moment Africa rises up and if the Sudanese people will lead the way in a new wave of liberation movements across the continent.
