No voice for citizens in TTIP, CETA and TiSA

Recently,
members of the Dutch and the European Parliament met to discuss trade
treaties that could have radical consequences for society, the
environment and the economy. Namely the negotiations between the USA and
the EU (TTIP) and the treaty between Canada and the EU (CETA) which is
now almost concluded. Unfortunately there was no discussion about the
TiSA, the Trade in Services Agreement, of which very little is known
among citizens and politicians alike. The government is listening so far
mainly to the arguments put forward by companies, and refuses to
address the objections and criticisms raised by civil society
organisations. Find out more about TiSA and read the questions that SOMO has addressed to the Minister. Also, in a joint press release SOMO and TNI are calling on the EC to overturn their decision and allow the citizens’ initiative against TTIP and CETA to go ahead.
