Who elected Trump as president? According to a recent very thorough
academic study, the president's razor-thin margin of victory was
provided to him by midwest voters in
areas where war casualty rates were highest. In other words, Trump's
largely non-interventionist rhetoric on the campaign trail won him the
presidency. Since in office he also has turned his back on these voters,
who want an "America first" foreign policy. Will they turn their back
on him in 2020?
