Marches for Dignity converge on Madrid today. Possibly a million or more people are in the streets of Madrid.

Marchers are composed of many different forces, uncommonly united in
action. And what a situation that is. Spain keeps sinking into the
bottomless pit of austerity, with 26% unemployment (55% among young
people), high emigration, mounting debt, cuts to all kinds of social
services – you know, the usual neoliberal shenanigans. The government of
the Popular Party is increasingly hated (along with their duopoly
counterparts, PSOE). Not only did they break all of their electoral
promises and are becoming ever more authoritarian, but they’ve been
involved in an ever increasing number of corruption scandals, their
excesses contrasting with the misery of the people.
