Doctors Without Borders gets bombed by the USA: Civilian hospital

the United States has bombed a civilian hospital in Afghanistan that
was staffed by Doctors Without Borders.
The Pentagon was trying
to bomb 10 - 15 "terrorists" but ended up also killing 12 medics and 9
patients, including several children who are now dead. Beyond the dead,
37 people were seriously wounded, according to press reports.
According to Sky News,
"The US military later admitted it carried out airstrikes 'in the
vicinity' of the hospital, and was targeting Taliban fighters firing at
American soldiers."
It said they "may have resulted in
collateral damage to a nearby medical facility" but details were still
not clear... The first bomb landed at 2.10am - and nine minutes later,
MSF staff rang NATO's offices in Kabul and military officials in
Washington. Despite this, the bombing continued until 3.13am.
The phrase "may have resulted in collateral damage" is Pentagon doublespeak for "We bombed the crap out of that hospital!"
