A message from John Pilger
As many of you will guess, I was wary of crowd-funding and its reliance
on social media. But the response to this campaign has been a vivid
reminder that 'when in need, go to the public'. Your generosity is
reminiscent of that which followed a number of my films - Cambodia Year
Zero alone raised more than £30 million for the victims of Pol Pot and
the American bombing, most of it unsolicited. Something similar followed
ITV's broadcast of my film on East Timor. In both cases, and many
others, the majority of donations were from people who could ill afford
to give. My warm thanks to everyone who has supported this latest
project.
