 Some myths about TTIP

"The intention is to use the TTIP to return to the logic of hegemony of the traditional powers, reinforcing its power through the generation of blocks, to impose a policy coalition against the rise of emerging," says Laura Ruiz.

We are not facing a conventional trade agreement tariff reduction on imports of two business partners, as they are low enough to be relevant.

The containment of China, the engine of employment will mean for SMEs and creating a standard of great value worldwide are false promises that brings the controversial treaty.

On August 11 we read in the press the news that offers 100,000 euros Wikieaks who would leak the text of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Agreement currently being negotiated between the United States and the European Union (TTIP for its acronym in English) . Since this agreement such importance and, according to its promoters, as beneficial to society, greatly surprised at the lack of information and public dialogue that has surrounded its negotiation process to date.

In July I had the opportunity to attend the European conference organized in Brussels by the Greens / EFA. Until we can have the text of TTIP, I stress in the following lines some of the ideas highlighted by and invited speakers to this day and they deserve a reflection in greater depth to fuel the debate on TTIP, providing additional arguments to to shuffle entities and critical platforms with TTIP throughout Europe, we wonder about who will benefit from this Agreement and at the expense of human rights risks or threats to the environment.

The conference was structured around three panels which are intended to explore some popular myths about TTIP. Remember that this is not a conventional trade agreement designed to reduce tariffs on imports from two partners, since they sufficiently low to be relevant. The true extent is the harmonization of standards, laws and regulations governing a number of labor issues, food sector, privatization of public services, the environment, financial deregulation and intellectual property. That is, that significantly affect all our daily reality. >>  http://t.co/SNpbsypsTT
