Jewish Rabbis write letter of support to President Obama for his courageous stance against the State of Israel
To His Excellency
Barack H. Obama,
President of the United States of America
January 3, 2017
On behalf of anti-Zionist Jews throughout the United States of America
we wish to thank Your Excellency for your many years of loyal service to
the citizens of the United States. May the Almighty reward you and your
family with His abundance. May Your Excellency, with the help of the
Almighty, achieve great accomplishments for many years in the future.
In particular, on behalf of anti-Zionist Jews worldwide, we
congratulate Your Excellency for your courageous stance regarding the
recent Security Council Resolution 2334, which declares the Israeli
settlements to be illegal.
For decades, the settlements have
been a major cause for bloodshed and unrest in the Holy Land. Hundreds
of innocent lives have been sacrificed on the altar of nationalism and
lust for land. At the same time, we wish to reiterate the Torah
position that it is not just the West Bank that is illegally occupied.
Jews have been sent into exile by the Almighty, and any kind of Jewish
sovereignty over any territory is a violation of that decree. Therefore
the concept of the State of Israel is entirely illegitimate and
forbidden. The crime is compounded when the creation of this homeland
entails the occupation, oppression, subjugation and expulsion of another
people. Before the era of Zionism, Jews lived in Palestine in peace and
security, side by side with the Palestinian Arab population. We
fervently hope for the day when Jews return to abiding by the laws of
the Torah and living in peace with all peoples.
Netanyahu has
vowed to continue building settlements, but we have appealed and
continued to appeal to the world to realize that the Jewish people true
to the Torah are not behind him. This show of defiance against the world
community and the United States for taking up a just cause is
completely against the Torah. American Jews true to the Torah in
particular, as loyal citizens enjoined by the Torah to respect their
president, are embarrassed and completely disgusted by Netanyahu and his
supporters’ vicious attacks against Your Excellency.
Attached is
a statement that we sent worldwide and presented in a press conference
in front of the United Nations on December 26, 2016. Also, on the
following day a delegation of Rabbis stood in front of Your Excellency’s
home, the White House, to demonstrate their support and thankfulness
for your courageous stance.
Once more, we offer our prayers to
the Almighty that Your Excellency and your entire family be blessed with
long, healthy and fruitful years and success in all Your Excellency’s
lofty endeavors to accomplish the will of the Almighty, Amen.
